Are you ready to learn how to do a simple breathing exercise for manifestation, mental clarity and relaxation? In this short 5 minute video, I’ll walk you through how to do Nadi Shodhana, alternate nostril breathing, that is highly beneficial to a cleansed inner body! This is the 1st breathing exercise in a 3 part series of “how to do simple breathing”. Can you guess how many breaths our sweet souls take each day??? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 22,000 ! ! ! !

In today’s video, I’ll be leading you through a breathing exercise for MANIFESTATION, mental clarity, and overall wellness. Our breath is the LIFE FORCE within us, the vibration that literally keeps us alive, in our present moment, living on this planet. I personally have found certain breathing techniques to bring such goodness into my life. Nadi is a Sanskrit word meaning “channel” or “flow” and shodhana means “purification.” So together, nadi shodhana encourages clearing channels of the mind-body organism, while introducing balance to the system as a whole. (So let’s hop into the exercise….)

1) Connect to your breath. Begin by taking a full, deep inhalation followed by a slow, gentle exhalation to awaken the body. 2) Next, fold the tips of the index and middle fingers inward until they touch the palm of your hand at the base of the right thumb. (You will alternately use the right thumb to close the right nostril and the right ring and pinky fingers (together) to close the left nostril.) …

(ROUND #1) Inhale through the left nostril. Use the right thumb to close the right nostril. Exhale gently, but fully, through the left nostril. Keeping the right nostril closed, inhale through the left nostril and deep into the belly. Exhale through the right nostril. Use the ring and pinky fingers of the right hand to gently close the left nostril and simultaneously release the right nostril. Exhale through the right nostril, surrendering the breath down the right side of the body. Pause gently at the bottom of the exhalation.

(Round #2) Inhale through the right nostril. Keeping the left nostril closed, inhale once again through the right nostril, allowing the breath to travel up the right side of the body. Exhale through the left nostril. Then again, use the right thumb to close the right nostril as you release the left nostril. Exhale through the left nostril, surrendering the breath back down the left side of the body. Pause gently at the bottom of the exhalation. Keep the breath slow, gentle, fluid, and relaxed throughout the practice. Essentially, our breath is the vibration that connects us to all living things- ourselves and own life, of course others, and the entire universe and all it’s earthly creatures!

As we wrap up, I’d love to share the “Benefits of Nadi Shodhana”
